The good folks at FFRF do more than just give fundamentalists a hard time - they protect YOUR freedom
of (and from) religion! Dan Barker (the big atheist on campus over there) came to Colorado
Springs to debate one of our local pastors and barely broke a sweat! Seriously, Dan is a decent
and respectful guy.

The Pikes Peak Gay and Lesbian Community Center is run by Christy Pitts. Christy spoke to the
Freethinkers of Colorado Springs a while back and guess what? Not a single straight person got
converted - imagine that! Just good information from a caring and honest group of people.

The National Academy of Sciences speaks with a voice that is backed by the most influential and talented
scientists in the world. It's perplexing to think that many dogmatic religionists can just cast aside
the NAS's view on our human origins - check out for yourself what the NAS has to say.

In Western societies, late December is a season
of good cheer and includes gatherings of friends and families
as well as celebrations grounded in supernatural religious beliefs
that many people in modern society cannot accept. HumanLight presents
an alternative reason to celebrate: a Humanist's vision of the
future in which people identify with each other, behave with the
highest moral standards, and work together toward a happy, just
and peaceful world.
NOTE: If you enjoyed the music
at our last HumanLight celebration, check out the new and adapted
music at The
Humanist Hymnal and The
Anthology of Humanist Songs.

Ever wonder about those stories of rat urine in your favorite soft drink? Or how about aspertame (the
artificial sweetener) turning into formaldehyde? Well, the folks at The San Fernando Valley Folklore
Society have taken the time to track down the truth behind these urban legends and set the record straight.
No reasonable person should miss this site!

The Talk.Origins Archive and FAQ is an excellent resource for discussing many of the questions that most
of us have asked. What is especially appealing about this site is the depth that many of the answers go
into. Well reasoned and balanced, this is an outstanding resource for both serious research and plain
old soul searching.

With the words "internet" and "infidels" in the name, what else do you need to know? Plenty of online
commentary and analysis as well as a lively discussion board. It's just a rumor, mind you, but the word
on the street is that these guys record a lot of hits from the Focus on the Family servers.

Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly -- none of them would hold up to the pressure if they had to
handle the tough issues covered on Freethought Radio! The Internet's #1 radio station for today's atheist, skeptic,
infidel, agnostic, secular humanist and freethinker.

Did you hear the one about the atheist, rabbi, and priest all stuck in the same life raft? Oh, you
have heard it ... sorry. But hey, how can you either disdain or admire anyone unless you know what
it is they have to say? The Atheist Alliance has something to say and it will only enhance your
understanding of this life if you hear it ... regardless of what you believe.

They have freethinkers in Denver? Why of course they do! Just 70 (or so) miles up I-25 from Colorado
Springs and there they are - the only difference is that the freethinkers in the Springs are much better
looking! Of course they don't have Focus on the Family within their city limits. Let's just call it a
tie, then. Visit the Atheists and Freethinkers of Denver.

Founded in 1941 to promote humanism in the United States, The American Humanist Association represents
both secular and religious naturalistic humanism. In other words, they don't believe that devils or
angels go around messing with you! And they don't recommend you scare the 'bajeebers' out of your kids
by telling them such stories either!

Bruce Monson is a decent and respectful guy. He's also firefighter who happens to be an atheist, which means
some will accuse Bruce of just causing 'trouble' for the fun of it. Check out Bruce's site and examine for
yourself the logic behind his purpose. It's highly doubtful that anyone can come up with a reason why Bruce
shouldn't be just the way he is!

|
'Freethinker Jim' has created a site with lots of good information! Contrary to the title of his site, Jim
has plenty of beliefs, it's just that they are based on reason and logic in lieu of ... well, you know what!
If you are doing research or just need to read up on the latest happenings in the Freethought community,
nobeliefs.com is a very good place to start.

The Boulder Atheists wish to promote the understanding and acceptance of atheism with good deeds and public
activities. Their motto is a pretty good one, "No gods, no devils, no heaven, no hell, just the wonderful universe
around us."

Darwin Day celebrates Charles Darwin - one of the great minds in the history of human beings! Hey, somebody had
to eventually show enough fortitude to stand up and challenge the myths and legends of the past with a detailed
and verifiable theory that accounts for our origins. Our world and our gods have never been the same.

The Freethinkers of Northern Colorado is dedicated to the separation of Church and State and to presenting a positive
view of atheism to our local community and to the world. We provide a place for you and your familes to get together
and socialize, to engage in activism, and gain emotional support.

Drive west 350 miles from Colorado Springs and you'll be in Grand Junction, which just happens to be the home
of Western Equality -- a broad-based diverse coalition of persons who share a common dedication to dialogue and
action to insure equality and justice for all persons. Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere!

If you read books -- especially books with a rationalist theme -- then you should check out the discussions
that go on over at booktalk.org. You'll be exposed to what other's are reading, you'll be enlighted with the
opinion of like-minded individuals, and you'll have a good time learning new stuff!
